He wouldn’t be warned – and now one of the most persistent, obnoxious, harassing trolls that Twitter has ever allowed on its platform appears to have paid the price.

Paul Arthur Ponting, a 53 year old Liverpudlian who lives and works in Ormskirk, Lancashire, was the bitter, twisted operator behind the ‘UK Corrupt Police’ account and has been the subject of five Neil Wilby Media articles since the first one, dated 25th March, 2023, reported his arrest, by Greater Manchester Police, over allegations of stalking, harassment and assault. He denies wrongdoing (read more here).

The latest of those articles, published earlier this week (27th June, 2023), set out an appalling catalogue of findings against him by two senior circuit judges in civil court hearings in March, 2020 and April, 2023. It also recorded two damning Twitter findings that the social media giant reported to the complainants on 30th May, 2023 over privacy breaches and abuse violations. A raft of other complaints, on exactly the same theme, are presently being considered.

‘The Ormskirk Vigilante’, as Ponting is widely known, was also put on notice in that article to the effect that further transgressions may result in his suspension from Twitter (read that article here).

But, in his typical style, the mindless, harassing and defamatory abuse from the self-styled ‘social media influencer’ intensified in the manner of a man that had nothing to lose. Which may well be the case as his computer repair business, Danoli Solutions Ltd, appears to be in financial trouble (read more here) and he is facing mounting difficulties in the civil courts as well as the criminal investigation over which he has recently been re-bailed.

There is, of course, a small possibility that Ponting deleted or paused the account himself. But, given his narcissism and delusions of social media grandeur, that seems unlikely. Even being on police bail and the subject of two court injunctions (one permanent and one interim) failed to rein him in.

But, whichever way it falls, Twitter is a healthier place today if @UKCorruptPolice is not in it.

Those who have actively supported, and cheer-lead, Ponting in his mindless vendettas, whether on Twitter, or via his other utterly appalling channels, should hang their own heads in shame and consider whether they also have a future on the social media platform.

He is offered right of reply in the usual way. To make it easy, here is the link to do so.

That is the view of at least one circuit judge in a lengthy and damning civil court judgment (read more here) and the overwhelming, and objective, finding of an assiduous investigative journalist (read more here).
