This is an open message to the infamous, ‘Walter Mitty‘ internet troll widely known as ‘The Ormskirk Vigilante‘ (read why here).

It is a communication that would have been sent to him via conventional channels, except that Neil Wilby, the author of this article, is blocked from responding to the address from which a right to reply email was sent yesterday (29th July, 2023), by Paul Arthur Ponting, in response to an article which forensically exposed him as a desperate scammer (read in full here).

That email account blocking, showing both cowardice and contempt to the court, came during the Pre-Action Protocol stage of defamation, harassment and malicious falsehood proceedings that were issued against him on 17th June, 2023. The case against Ponting is absolutely overwhelming and to which he had no cogent response.

That claim, together with an associated injunction application, is, however, stayed as a result of the subsequent discovery of the precarious state of the Ponting finances, not least the apparent collapse of his company, Danoli Solutions Ltd (read more about that here). There’s seem to be little prospect of recovery of even the bare costs of those actions, let alone damages, from Ponting.

The ‘Vigilante’ continues, nevertheless, to exhaust every means possible to prevent journalistic investigations and exposure of his wrongdoing, past and present, whilst continuing to offend against others relentlessly.

This is the, now open, message by way of response to Ponting’s right of reply email:

“Please allow the presentation of a very simple equation:

“If you choose to carry on scamming, stalking, harassing, maliciously lying, trolling, doxxing, defaming, breaching privacy and data rights, breaching bail, defying at least one court injunction, holding courts in contempt, issuing menacing threats – then NWM has a duty as ‘social watchdog’ to continue exposing and reporting the same, for as long as there is a public interest in doing so.

“At present, the public interest, in the policy rather than the lurid sense, is overwhelming, given the appalling and growing catalogue of misdemeanours being reported upon.

“In your own words, drawn from the @UKCorruptPolice Twitter bio: ‘Don’t like it. Don’t do it’.

“No reply to this email is expected, or necessary.

“However, if you choose to issue the threatened legal proceedings then, given your known and admitted financial circumstances, a security for costs application will be made to the court (read more here). Again, matters of very significant public interest.
