A former West Yorkshire Police officer who pleaded guilty, in January, 2023, to two counts of sexually assaulting female students and outraging public decency by exposing his penis in a nightclub faces a misconduct hearing later this week.

Ex-PC Lee Parker, having served for over 20 years, resigned from the force after incidents occurred on a drunken night out with police colleagues in a Leeds nightclub that, ultimately led to him being sentenced at Manchester Magistrates’ Court, in March, 2023, to 32 weeks in prison, suspended for two years. The officer, from Wakefield, was also order to pay £250 compensation to each victim, a £150 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

The force say in a notice published on their website:

“A Misconduct Hearing will be held in respect of former PC Lee Parker at 10am on 16th November, 2023.

“It is alleged that on 11th December 2021, whilst off duty, the officer attended a social event at Roxy’s Ballroom in Leeds.

“Whilst there he: –
Indecently exposed himself
Assaulted one female by smacking her bottom
Assaulted a second female by holding her face and kissing her

It is considered that his conduct engages and breaches the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to discreditable conduct and amounts to gross misconduct i.e. so serious as to justify dismissal or a finding that dismissal would have been justified had he remained in service.

WYP has not named the Legally Qualified Chair who will preside or offered any explanation for the delay in bringing these proceedings.
