A notice published on the South Yorkshire Police website sets out allegations that PC Nathan Horrocks, 27, will face at an accelerated misconduct hearing in Sheffield on 21st November, 2023.
“It is alleged that in November 2021 the officer caused injuries to a female in the course of sexual activity with her.
“Those injuries included numerous bruises to her chest, breasts, back, arms, neck and buttocks. It is also alleged he pulled out some hair from her head.
“This allegation is a breach of the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to Discreditable Conduct and Authority, Respect & Courtesy and amounts to gross misconduct.
“The matter set out above is a breach of the Standards which is so serious as to justify dismissal”.
On 3rd November, 2023, PC Horrocks, a response officer, was cleared of raping the female twice, biting her repeatedly and pulling out a clump of her hair during the alleged assault at his home in Rotherham in 2021.
The court heard that PC Horrocks and the complainant had exchanged flirtatious messages in the months leading up to the incident but had not spoken in person.
Prosecutors had claimed he persuaded her to spend the night at his house before subjecting her to “nasty, violent sex”.
Prosecutor Gillian Batts said the female had been drinking over a prolonged period and was in no fit state to consent to anything.
PC Horrocks told jurors that all sexual activity between the two was consensual and that the woman seemed fine and a bit merry.
He said the bruising to her chest, neck and breasts on pictures shown in court was caused by him giving her “love bites” but denied that he “bit her very hard, repeatedly” when question by the prosecutor.
PC Horrocks, who was suspended from duty when the allegations came to light, is expected to deny the charges at the misconduct hearing.
South Yorkshire Police has not released the name of the Legally Qualified Chair who will preside.
