A two day misconduct hearing due to open this morning (Tuesday 18th March, 2024) will decide the fate of a Derbyshire Constabulary officer.
Following a notice posted on the force website it emerged that PC Joshua Beardsley will face the following allegations at their headquarters in Butterley Grange:
Standards of professional behavior that have allegedly been breached
- Honesty and integrity
- Conduct
Circumstances of Alleged Breaches
The officer will answer allegations that his conduct breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of, ‘Honesty and Integrity,’ and ‘Discreditable Conduct’ in that he was the driver of a Police vehicle that was involved in a road traffic collision. He subsequently left a note that did not identify him as causing the damage or report it as required.
The force has neither named the Panel members nor the Legally Qualified Chair.
No other details have been given as to when, and how, the alleged incident occurred; in what unit or district PC Beardsley was deployed; and whether he has carried on normal duties with these disciplinary proceedings hanging over him.
Please do better, Derbyshire.
