Following an exclusive article published by Neil Wilby Media on 26th April, 2024 that disclosed a firearms incident on the notorious Holme Wood estate in Bradford (read here), West Yorkshire Police say that four more arrests were made last Friday (3rd May, 2024).
The scene of the “ongoing incident involving individuals in vehicles”, as WYP described it at the time, was Stratton View and it occurred the previous morning in an occurence characterised by concerned locals as the latest episode between two well known warring factions on the estate.
Evidence that a house on Farway had been shot at was later discovered by police. Stratton View is the short stretch of road that is the only vehicular route in and out of Farway, a known criminal hot spot.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police investigating a firearms discharge in Bradford last month have made further arrests.
“Three males and a female were arrested in the Broadstone Way area in Bradford on Friday afternoon (May 3) after a vehicle was stopped as part of ongoing enquiries into a firearms discharge on Stratton View at 2.25am on Thursday, April 25th.
“Officers also conducted searches at two properties in the Farway area.
“Specialist officers have been conducting multiple enquiries into the shooting on Stratton View, which did not result in any injuries.
“Two men previously arrested on suspicion of firearms offences remain on police bail as enquiries continue by the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident on April 25 or has any information about those involved, is asked to contact the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team via Live Chat online or by calling 101, quoting crime reference 13240219911.
“Information can also be given anonymously to the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
