British Transport Police say that Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, 42, better known as ‘Tommy Robinson’, has been released on bail after being arrested at Luton Airport on his latest return to the UK.
He was detained at 6.25pm yesterday evening, after disembarking from an EasyJet flight inbound from Faro Airport in Portugal (read more here).
Robinson will remain on police bail until 8th September 2025 whilst their enquiries continue following an alleged assault at St Pancras Station last week..
At Luton Airport, fellow passengers watched on as their aircraft was surrounded by British Transport Police officers.
After an alert was raised, they were waiting for the far-right activist after he fled the country almost immediately after the incident at the central London railway station
Robinson, a former football hooligan and co-founder of the far-right English Defence League, was escorted off the EasyJet flight, to a waiting police van, wearing a blue t-shirt, denim shorts and a dark-coloured baseball cap. He was not restrained by handcuffs at that point.
In several post-release messages on his @TRobinsonNewEra X (Twitter) account, including a 7 minute film clip, Tommy is urging police to make public the footage they hold.
He vehemently denies any offence over which he was detained and interviewed.
