A West Yorkshire Police officer is required to attend a three-day gross misconduct hearing on starting later this morning. 19th June, 2023. It is listed for three days ending on 21st June, 2023.
PC Andy Liddle is accused of breaching the Standards of Professional Behaviour in respect of honesty and integrity.
A statement on the WYP website says:
“On 10th March, 2021 West Yorkshire police allocated an HP Elite E243 24-inch computer monitor to PC Liddle for the purpose of agile working.
“On 27th September, 2021 PC Liddle’s partner advertised the same HP Elite E243 24-inch computer monitor for sale online for £150. Pictures of the monitor were included in the sale advert.
“It is alleged that PC Liddle has caused, permitted, or allowed his partner to list and attempt to sell the computer monitor.”
There is no explanation given by the force as to when and how the alleged misconduct came to light.
It is not known whether PC Liddle has remained on police duty in the intervening period in his role as a firearms and lead Taser instructor.
The length of hearing strongly implies that PC Liddle will deny the allegations and be legally represented.
The force has not supplied the name of Legally Qualified Chair who will preside over this misconduct hearing.
This is the 24th misconduct hearing held by West Yorkshire Police since January 2022. 96% of them have been held in public (Source: Misconduct999).
