A West Yorkshire Police officer, PC Adam Brown, is facing a misconduct hearing over an incident that occurred during first aid training.
It is alleged that the constable made a comment about a black first aid dummy during classroom training at the force’s Carr Gate complex on the outskirts of Wakefield.
A hearing is scheduled for 18th and 19th December, 2023. Given the length of the hearing it is expected that PC Brown will deny the allegations and be legally represented.
The Force says on its website: “It is alleged that on September 29, 2022, as part of his training, he attended first aid and CPR training in a classroom at Carr Gate, Wakefield.
“Whilst in the classroom he said, ‘Can I have the black one (referring to a resuscitation mannequin/dummy) , so I can stamp on its head’ or words to that effect.”
The Force contend that PC Brown, in behaving in such a way, has breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour. His conduct was ‘discriminatory’, they say.
