Conservative Member of Parliament, William Wragg, resigned from the Tory whip yesterday evening (9th April, 2024) following a controversial, claimed “Westminster honeytrap” incident.

This decision was confirmed by a spokesperson for the Tory whips, and Wragg, MP for Hazel Grove (Stockport) since 2015, will now sit as an independent in Parliament.

The resignation has sparked a range of reactions on social media, with some questioning the moral and loyalty standards within the Party, and others praising Wragg for his decision.

The controversy has also led to discussions about parliamentary standards investigations and the involvement of others.

Meanwhile, thirteen miles due North of Stockport, a Tory councillor who represents the Royton North ward on Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council, has decided to tough it out over an alleged ‘porn pervert’ scandal that broke exclusively on this Neil Wilby Media website on 7th April, 2024 (read more here).

After the scandal broke, Cllr Dave Arnott, who was elected to the Council in 2021, wrote a ‘secret’ statement to a small number of fellow councillors and senior paid officers whom he addressed as ‘colleagues and friends’. Attempting to explain away his interaction with ‘sex bot’ social media accounts and requesting pornographic pictures or videos from them whilst using his official Council ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) account (read more here).

There has been no public rebuttal of the allegations by Cllr Arnott, who has a significant catalogue of previous political misdemeanours (read more here), which are based on the clearest of evidence.

The controversial local politician has made no complaint or legal challenge to the content of those two articles, or a third that recorded the swift, cowardly and misconceived deletion of the subject Twitter account a short time after the porn scandal broke (read more here). Cllr Arnott said that action was taken on ‘good advice’ but, curiously, did not reveal the identity of the donor of such wisdom.

Unfortunately for him, his secret statement fell into the hands of the author of this article, Neil Wilby, whom forensically and relentlessly exposed the email carrying it as a pack of lies; seemingly manufactured to deceive perennially inert paid officers and his local Conservative Association colleagues. Which include his wife, Cllr Christine Adams, who represents the same ward constituents.

But Cllr Arnott is hanging on grimly, his reputation once more shredded but refusing to resign or apologise, claiming the scandal is another conspiracy between ‘leaking’ Labour councillors and journalist.

Regrettably for ‘Flash’, as he is known to friends and former Army colleagues, both the facts and history are against him.
