At a short hearing in Preston Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday 21st June, 2024) the trial of Paul Ponting, 54, of Yew Tree Road, Ormskirk was remitted to Crown Court.

He will face allegations of stalking with fear of violence at a plea and case management hearing listed for Friday 19th July, 2024 at Preston Crown Court.

The court heard that the case was deemed too serious to be dealt with at the Magistrates’ Court.

Ponting has previously told Neil Wilby Media that he denies the allegations and intends to plead not guilty.

He was bailed with conditions that include not to contact, or interfere with, the complainant, directly or indirectly, and not to post anything about the complainant on social media or the wider internet.
