A Castleford man, Neal Lloyd, 61, appeared at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on Friday this week (17th March, 2024) charged with inciting racial hatred, an offence under Part III of the Public Order Act, 1986.

He was arrested on 20th October, 2023 by West Yorkshire Police following comments he made on the social media platform most widely known as ‘Facebook’, allegedly related to the Middle East conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

Mr Lloyd, of St Andrew’s Road, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

He was granted conditional bail and will next appear at Leeds Crown Court on 15th April, 2024.
