An article published on this website last Saturday (15th January, 2022) exclusively revealed that publication of the long-awaited Oldham Strand of the Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) Assurance Review was set to suffer even further delays (read more here).
It has been confirmed today by the Greater Manchester Mayor’s office, who commissioned and own the report, that it will now be released to the public in mid-February, 2022 instead of during week commencing 24th January, 2022.
It is understood that the main reason for the delay has been the intransigence of Greater Manchester Police who have presented unexpected obstacles in terms of data protection and objections to some of the content of the report which is damning of both their competence and integrity. Their conduct is an almost exact repeat of what victims, partners and stakeholders suffered with the Rochdale and South Manchester Strand of the same CSE Review programme.
This a developing story. More to follow.
Oldham Council press office has been approached for comment.
