Police officer arrested over corruption allegations

SYP HQ

A 38 year old South Yorkshire Police (SYP) officer , who was most recently part of a response team working in the force’s Doncaster Division, has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

It is further alleged that the officer, who holds the rank of constable, has abused his position as a police officer and the arrest followed a report to its Professional Standards Department.

SYP say that the investigation into the alleged offences is ongoing: The officer is suspended from duty and currently on police bail pending further enquiries.
