At a disposal hearing in the Royal Courts of Justice later this morning, a well known political activist from Oldham, Greater Manchester faces a costs and damages bill estimated to be in the order of £200,000 following harassment and defamation findings against him.
This High Court case has been covered exclusively on Neil Wilby Media, from its outset, and a comprehensive summary of the court’s findings against Khazir Rehman (better known locally as Kaiser) can be found at this link.
Although the author of this article, Neil Wilby, is presently abroad it is hoped that, via a link to the court’s Cloud Video Platform (CVP), live updates can be provided via his Twitter feed (@Neil_Wilby).
The claimant is Oldham councillor, Cllr Riaz Ahmad, and he will be represented by JMW Solicitors, a specialist Manchester law firm. Kaiser will appear as a lay litigant via CVP. He is, arguably, the local Conservative Party’s best known and most vocal activist in the area.
The hearing is before Master Victoria McCloud, the current President of the High Court’s King’s Bench Division, in room E109 at the Royal Courts of Justice in London.
