In a short statement, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that Omar Choudhury (Date of birth 03/04/2001) of Royton and Hamidur Rahman (Date of birth 06/06/1999) of Oldham have both been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
They have been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Manchester & Salford Magistrates Court on Monday 27th February, 2023.
These charges are a result of an investigation by GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit into a fatal road traffic collision on Rochdale Road, Oldham, close to the Royal Hospital, at around 1:30pm on Thursday 23 February 2023, where sadly a 16-year-old girl pedestrian passed away from her injuries sustained at the scene.
She has now been identified as Alisha Goup from Royton. Her family have asked for continued privacy whilst they grieve for their loss.
GMP has previously appealed to the public for information or dash-cam footage. Either by calling 0161 856 4741 quoting incident number 1677 of 23/2/2023 or by making a report via their website http://www.gmp.police.uk.
