Founder and former Leader of the English Defence League and noted far-right activist, Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, more widely known as ‘Tommy Robinson’, is set to return to Oldham after an absence of almost five years.
A rally in May, 2019, to muster support as a prospective Member of the European Parliament, ended in a riot in the Limeside area of the town as his supporters clashed with counter-demonstrators.
Robinson has announced on social media that he will be in Oldham on 23rd March, 2024. He is expected to link up with notorious, Tameside-based conspiracy theorist, Raja Miah, and his supporters, appositely known as The Rabble. Notably well stocked with far-right crusaders, including the man alleged to have started the Limeside riots, ‘Big John’ Lawrence, a former leading light in Britain First (read more here).
Miah, who also claims to be a prospective Parliamentary candidate, has recently doubled down on his proposition of a ‘cover-up’ of grooming gangs in Oldham in return for block Asian votes at local and general elections, that involves Labour councillors, MPs and a Regional Mayor, senior paid council officers, an entire police force, their safeguarding partners and a large number of local, regional and national journalists. Including the author of this article, Neil Wilby.
After five years of repeating the same claim, and milking his supporters of well over £40,000 in the process, Miah is yet to produce a scintilla of credible evidence to back that preposterous allegation (read more here).
Recently, he has asserted that Maggie Oliver, a former Greater Manchester Police detective constable credited with exposing the grooming gang scandal in Rochdale, supports his ‘cover-up’ conspiracy theory in Oldham.
Both Miah and, particularly, Ms Oliver were avid proponents of the alleged grooming gang scandal in Barrow-in-Furness which turned out to be a hoax grounded in the horrendous lies told by the now notorious Ellie Williams (read more here).
Perhaps, they will both make the Tommy Robinson visit even more memorable by producing their Oldham grooming gang ‘cover-up’ evidence on that same day?
