Lower than a snake’s belly

Even allowing for the fact that unemployed, Tameside-based conspiracy theorist, Raja Miah, is, very arguably, the Greater Manchester Region’s most persistent, mendacious liar, and a deeply unpleasant individual whose ready resort to violent fantasies and mindless smearing of those with whom he has an axe to grind, the output from his frequently banned Recusant Nine Facebook page reached a new low late last night (20th September, 2022).

Amongst a rant that was, as per norm, very largely evidence-free and designed, almost entirely it appears, to agitate his support base of around 100 desperate souls whom self-style as The Rabble (or Raja’s Rabble).

But what sets this apart from the usual nonsense he spouts is that he deliberately smears a long-serving, hard-working, highly respected Oldham councillor who DIED, sadly and most unexpectedly, last Sunday (18th September, 2022) at the relatively young age of 64.

Miah must have known of this, as the passing of the late Cllr Jean Stretton has been very widely reported in the local and regional newspapers and on social media. Tributes to her council and community work, spanning 20 years, have been loud, long and heartfelt.

The decision whether to reproduce the offensive post within this article was weighed carefully in the balance – and the tipping of the scales resulted from an urgent requirement, through the lens of this journalist at least, to have the post removed by Facebook. Driven by what, it is hoped, will be mass reporting of it by the readers of this article.

It also serves to show how desperate Miah is to continue leeching money from the vulnerable, mentally ill, disabled, delusional, elderly and the grim assortment of axe-grinders who form a significant majority of The Rabble.

There is also a faint hope that the Council’s senior paid officers might rise from their three year torpor and actually take appropriate civil and/or restraining action against Miah. That would be, many might say, the best possible tribute they could pay to the life and public service of Jean Stretton.

Jim McMahon MP who joined Oldham Council in 2002, the same year as Jean, who later became Deputy to his Leader of the Council role, says:

“A long list of abuse, harassment and controlling behaviour, this is beyond the pale. It serves as a warning to others being targeted that it won’t stop even at the painful end when friends and family are grieving. That isn’t normal nor should it be accepted as it has for too long”.

UPDATE: Shortly after this article was published, and in response to a comment on the subject post by long-term Recusant Nine cultist, Alison Wheeler, Raja Miah did, in fact, confirm that he was aware that Jean Stretton had died. Not only that, he most shamefully doubled down on the abuse and falsehoods that he had broadcast in the above post. It is not necessary to repeat that reply to Ms Wheeler in order to allow Jean’s family, friends and colleagues the necessary space to grieve.
