A serving police officer has been charged with two counts of common assault, believed to have occurred on on 29th April, 2022, whilst off-duty.
West Yorkshire Police say the alleged offences relate to an incident in Baildon, on the outskirts of Bradford, that involved a single victim.
A force spokesperson added that Detective Sergeant Gareth Greenwood, based in Bradford, has been suspended from duty.
The alleged incident took place whilst the officer was a Temporary Detective Inspector.
D/Sgt Greenwood is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on 3rd October, 2022.
