In a brief statement issued on 17th January, 2023, West Yorkshire Police said that one of their officers has been charged with sexual assault and outraging public decency.
PC Lee Parker, age 40, who is based in Operational Support, has been charged with two counts of sexual assault on a female and one count of outraging public decency. This relates to an off-duty incident in December 2021.
WYP say he is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Thursday, 19th January, 2023, but is, curiously, not listed by CourtServe to appear on that day.
PC Parker was suspended from duty at the commencement of the investigation. It is understood that he was a firearms officer for a number of years. The WYP press office has been invited to confirm that status.
