An article published by Neil Wilby Media yesterday (21st July, 2023) and headlined ‘‘Vigilante’ claims police may be complicit in ‘contract on his life’‘ produced another heavy and interesting response, but no right of reply exercised by its subject, Paul Arthur Ponting (pictured above right), also widely known as ‘The Ormskirk Vigilante‘. The full article can be read here.
Briefly, and as the headline suggests, it charted an alleged contract to kill, arguably, Lancashire’s most despised internet troll and multiple harasser. Absurd in itself, but made much more so as Ponting claims that the murder plot was overheard in a Manchester pub by a random member of the public and, more latterly, a neighbouring police force is complicit.
In one email yesterday an informant who claims to be associated with ‘The Vigilante’ named the mythical ‘man in the pub’ as Raja Miah (pictured above left), a notorious, unemployed, Tameside-based conspiracy theorist whom is, since earlier this year, Paul Ponting’s new best friend.
It is for the reader to judge whether it is just a coincidence that both men are on court and police bail respectively over harassing the same female and both regularly reported over alleged breach of bail conditions. The latter is also subject to an interim court injunction over his harassment of her. Both Miah and Ponting deny wrongdoing. The former is due to appear in Bolton Magistrates’ Court for a pre-trial hearing on 9th August, 2023 (read more here). He is also on police bail over an allegation of at least one malicious communication following the second of three dawn raid arrests by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) inside two years. Miah again denies any wrongdoing.
To complete the picture, GMP is the force that arrested Ponting in March, 2023 (read more here) and, unsurprisingly, named by him as involved in the murder plot.
The informant mentioned earlier also claims s/he was an active member of of Miah’s support group, whom self-style as The Rabble (or Raja’s Rabble), but left after the post on Facebook that resulted in the second of his three arrests (read more here). She was ‘absolutely disgusted’, s/he says, and stopped sending him money every month.
S/he has kept up her friendship with other members of The Rabble and they have told her/him that ‘the ‘contract to kill’ idea was Raja’s’. He came up with the idea of the man in the pub and to infer the murder plot was the work of the woman whom they are both alleged to have harassed. ‘It was Paul who came up with the idea of saying GMP was involved with it’, s/he adds.
The fact that Raja Miah’s online existence, via his divisive, hate-filled, frequently-banned Recusant Nine platforms, almost entirely revolves around violent fantasies involving mythical Asian cartels, mobsters, gangsters, goons, armed robbers, gang rape and plots to harm him is highly relevant. Including one that involved an alleged murder conspiracy between Jim McMahon MP, Sean Fielding, at the time Leader of Oldham Council and the author of this article, Neil Wilby.
More crucially, Miah has recent history for another form of fantasy: A fake car-jacking that he alleges took place in sleepy Greenfield at the foot of Saddleworth Moors in which he, standing at around 5’8″ and 8 stone, fought off an unspecified number balaclava-clad armed robbers (read more here).
When weighing the public interest in the balance and, of course, the likelihood of the informant being correct, the history of both these Walter Mitty-type characters, and the obvious threat to society they pose, via their appalling and collective on-line activities, tips the scales heavily in favour of publication. Despite the risk of arrest of the journalist writing this article, as Miah and Ponting both repeatedly report him to the police in an attempt to silence any exposure of their nefarious activities. Whilst, at the same time, repeatedly smearing and defaming the same journalist on an almost daily basis and encouraging the vile cranks that form the The Rabble hardcore to do the same.
Paul Ponting and Raja. Miah were both offered specific right of reply at this weblink. They did not respond.
